“This was the perfect get away. There is limited cell coverage out in Port Renfrew but for us that was exactly what we needed. The beds were comfortable. The view was great. I enjoyed view during my morning coffee. We hope to return in the summer to enjoy our coffee outside. Thank you for the beautiful place to unwind. “The view was every bit as gorgeous in real life as it looks from the photos, and the accommodations were immaculate, comfy, and luxurious. The kitchen was great. We had been warned that Port Renfrew didn’t have much in the way of amenities so brought our own food, but when we arrived we found a grocery store, ice cream stand, restaurant, and nice breakfast café. This place was a splurge for us, but worth it. We enjoyed nearby Botany Bay near sunset, and hiking to Mystic Beach.”

“Beautiful views! Immaculately clean new condo on the waterfront. Overall, we would stay there again. The view is so peaceful with whales and eagles going by. The only drawbacks on this particular unit were noise from the unit above (footsteps and moving furniture). As a middle unit, it does not receive a ton of light on the sides but has an amazing patio with a beautiful view. The kitchen is well stocked with new cutlery and dishes. The TV has Netflix and the wifi worked. Be aware that amenities are very limited in Port Renfrew so bring all your own food. No cell service.”

“Amazing view! New building complex. Gorgeous sunset from deck and full amenities in kitchen. Be aware there is surprisingly NO cellular service in the entire area so you will depend on having to find wifi locations from restaurants or pubs. (there are maybe 4 in total). Ensure you have the entry information from the host before leaving a major city enroute. There’s a beach full of sun-bleached driftwood where the kids found incredible pieces to keep as souvenirs. We found the view incredible, watching the eagles land in the trees amazing and bedding comfortable. And we enjoyed the beach with the driftwood amazing.”

It was spotless with beautiful furnishings, and a very comfortable bed. Avatar Grove is a must! And the drive from Sooke to Port Renfrew has stunning views. Heather was quick to reply to my questions. Highly recommended. Wish we could have stayed longer! What a beautiful home and great location. The view was better than expected as we loved watching the boats coming and going. I had the best night’s sleep I’ve had in a very long time. What is the mattress? The home was spotless which was greatly appreciated. Overall though it was fabulous. We loved Avatar Grove, and although disappointed that Botanical Beach [temporarily closed due to bear activity in the area] was closed we enjoyed a cozy afternoon by the fire playing Scrabble and reading instead. We also made the most of our time in Port Renfrew tracking down ancient trees like the Red Creek Fir, Avatar Grove and running Oceanside through the Botanical Park. Our last day was spent paddle boarding on Fairy Lake, checking out the waterfall at Sombrio Beach and falling off a few waves surfing at Jordan River. Perfect place to base our weekend adventure. “My husband and I went to Port Renfrew for a couple of days to celebrate Valentine’s Day, and we stayed at Eagle Reach. We were very impressed with how new and clean everything was and we felt right at home. It’s hard to find a nice place that allows you to bring your pets, so this was a huge bonus for us! The view was breathtaking and we really enjoyed the nature hikes to Botanical and Mystic Beach. There’s a cute little cafe that’s walking distance away with the friendliest staff and a pub up the road which had amazing food and a great atmosphere. Overall we really enjoyed our time away and we left wishing we had a few more days. We will definitely be back soon!”

“We loved the cottage and noticed that Heather & Rob spared no expense toward creating a high quality home. All the decor, from the lovely dining-ware and kitchen appliances (clean BBQ set, great tea selection, coffee maker) to the furniture and sea-themed items were just amazing and made it that much more enjoyable…You can tell they care in bringing quality to their customers. The location was very unique…its at a very new development so it’s brand spanking new…i was confused at first when I arrived because at the time, it was still a construction site…new cottages are still being built. I’m an engineer specializing in residential development and the quality of these homes are well built. Highly recommend the venue. As for the drive to the cottage, it was a beautiful drive coming from Nanaimo. It was snowing coming through Duncan but as we were approaching Port Renfrew, the temperature dropped which provided for a safe, no-snow drive to the cottage. If you’re worried about the drive to the cottage, you can rest assured that the route is very safe to drive through. The only issue we had was that the check in time was a little late in the day for us at 4pm. If the time would change to an earlier check in close to 12, that would be great! Thanks for a great time, Heather & Rob!“

“Hard to describe just how gorgeous Port Renfrew and the surrounding area really is. I had a fairly aggressive itinerary and had to toss it out the window…not because we couldn’t get to it, but because we didn’t want to. We had way too much to do just hiking down to the Botanical beach tide pools and taking a trek up to avatar grove. The small community surrounding the cottage seems great. Lots of friendly neighbors. While I was a little worried about the unit being connected to others (mostly due to sound), I was pleasantly surprised. I couldn’t hear a peep from neighbors (and hopefully they couldn’t hear my toddler’s midnight cry). This place is special and the value was excellent.”

The quality of the place was more boutique hotel rather than just a holiday apartment.  The impressive entertainment system would have happily kept everyone occupied if it wasn’t for the location and the incredible views from the balcony. Communication throughout with Heather and Rob was easy, informative and prompt, and they proved to be perfect hosts. Adjusting to ‘Island’ time was all too easy and hours spent on the beach or on a visit to Botanical beach could have been repeated endlessly. The Pub was in easy reach and offered very good food and service, as well as a family friendly atmosphere, and was a nice place to sit and watch the world go by. The children slept well in the separate room with convenient access to the adjoined bathroom. Sitting on the balcony, glass in hand, watching the sun set and enjoying the BBQ, was a seriously relaxing way to end the day’s activities. The stunning night sky was a revelation. And star watching listening to the waves lapping below the balcony or the surf crashing on the beach at the end of the bay was another highlight. A full 5*, 10 out of 10 experience! We will be back.”
